Andrew lost three stone On the Go Lower eating plan
I used to be a keen competitive swimmer and trained eight or nine rimes a week, so I never really had to think about what I ate. But my lifestyle radically changed when I went to university. Basically I stopped exercising and discovered a new diet of alcohol and fast food! When I started my course I weighed about 12 stone but by the time I left my weight had shot up to 14 stone.
I’ve tried to diet plenty of times since then but I’ve never managed to stick with anything. I fell into a pattern of eating salads and soup in an attempt to lose a bit of weight, only to give up after a couple of days when I couldn’t see any major change. When there wasn’t any obvious result, I’d be straight back to my old habits and huge portion sizes.
I heard about Go Lower through a friend of mine who had done the diet herself. She’d lost a lot of weight in a relatively short space of time and looked fabulous, so I decided to give it a go.
I was warned that I’d need to stick to the plan strictly for the first few weeks so, because I have quite a busy social life, I deliberately checked my diary and set aside a month when I knew I wouldn’t have too many temptations. The first week was the most difficult because I had to get used to a whole new way of eating but by the weekend, as my body adjusted, I started feeling really great and full of energy. By the second week, it was easy and Go Lower became part of my everyday life.
Towards the end of the second week my fiancé remarked that I looked slimmer, so I got out the scales and weighed myself. At first I couldn’t believe it - I had lost 7lbs! This definitely gave me the motivation I’d never had with past diet attempts and as the weeks went on, the more weight I lost, the more I wanted to stick with the diet.
Two months after starting Go Lower, I’ve lost just under three stone and have hit my target weight. Nowadays I tend to follow the plan during the week and then eat allow myself a bit of indulgence at the weekend - it works really well and the weight has stayed off..
